Extra Curricular Programs
Intellectual activities
We give our children the opportunity to enjoy and hone their mental capacities outside of school hours.
A Chess Club and Literature Quiz Team provide stimulation and valuable skills. Bay Primary offers Mind Matters and Think, a philosophy based programme, hosted by Sandy Roelofse. Coding is also part of our curriculum, from Grades R-7.
We participate annually in the General Knowledge Championships. We also host Library Weeks and Travelling Bookstore visits.
Sports and Culture
Every child deserves the physical and social benefits of sport and healthy exercise habits. We place equal value on participation and teamwork, on the one hand, and physical effort and excellence, on the other.
Sports we offer: Bay Runners, Cricket, Netball, Tennis, Hockey, Cross-country, Basketball and Soccer.
Cultural Clubs: Choir, Drama, Art, Chess and Literature.
Private Extramurals held at Bay: Gymnastics, Parkour, Hip Hop, Violin and Piano.

Outdoors
Four outdoor programmes all take the form of shared learning in action. This is essentially a celebration of our children’s (and our staff and parents’) all-round well-being.
These four programmes include:
• Campouts
• Regular school outings
• Adventure Club
• Fynbos Initiatives
Eco-Warriors
We foster Bay Primary children’s social awareness, and environmental sensitivity and responsibility. Bay has been internationally recognised for our water-saving and recycling initiatives. We have an Eco Brick project, encouraging our learners to make use of unrecyclable plastics, and the children receive house points for bringing recycling to school.
We encourage and support charitable acts. We follow the Eco-Schools program for the Eco-Warriors club.
