Extra Curricular Programs
We give our children the opportunity to enjoy and hone their mental capacities outside of school hours.
A Chess Club and Literature Quiz Team provide stimulation and valuable skills. Bay Primary offers Mind Matters, a philosophy based programme, hosted by Sandy Roelofse.
We participate annually in the General Knowledge Championships. We also host Library Weeks and Travelling Bookstore visits.
Sports & exercise
Every child deserves the physical and social benefits of sport and healthy exercise habits. We have an annual Sports Day. We place equal value on participation and teamwork, on the one hand, and physical effort and excellence, on the other.
We offer: Bay Runners, Cricket, Netball, Tennis, Hockey, Cross-country, Soccer, and many more.
Four outdoor programmes all take the form of shared learning in action. This is essentially a celebration of our children’s (and our staff and parents’) all-round well-being.
We have Campouts, School Camps for Gr. 5, 6 and 7, Adventure Club and Fynbos Initiatives.
We foster Bay Primary children’s social awareness, and environmental sensitivity and responsibility. Children receive house points for bringing reycling to school. Bay has been internationally recognised for our water saving initiatives. We have an Eco Brick project, encouraging our learners to make use of unrecyclable plastics.
We encourage and support charitable acts.
