Charities for 2024
Bay Primary School fosters a spirit of giving among its students by supporting local community charities. The school encourages children to develop compassion, empathy, and a strong sense of social responsibility by engaging in various charitable initiatives. This commitment to giving back helps students understand the importance of helping others and builds a caring and supportive community within the school and beyond.

For Mandela Day, 18 July, Bay Primary will donate non-perishable food items to The Haven Night Shelter: Split Peas, Lentils, Pasta, Mielie Meal, Long-Life Milk, Tins of Beans, Tins of Tuna, and Sweetcorn. Each grade will collect one of these items.
On the day, the JPC and SPC will host a special Mandela Day assembly. Staff and residents from The Haven will attend, where they will receive our food donation.
Report Back: Still to come. Photos of the day can be seen on the right.

Another initiative for Mandela Day, 18 July, is for Bay Primary’s Grade R-4 children to make sandwiches for Masicorp. The sandwiches will be donated to the education programmes in Masiphumelele.
Report Back from Megan Pringle, Fundraising Director: Thank you for the many sandwiches. We were able to distribute to the preschool children attending our ECDs, the children attending our after-school Maths clubs at Ukhanyo Primary, Masi High teenagers attending our computer training classes, and many more children who visited the Chasmay Campus after-school (children from the Masi Violin group and Songezo Cycling academy to name a few).
